Parish Breakfast

On Sunday, 1 March, parishioners from both Sandford and St Philip’s gathered for the 8.30 a.m. Holy Communion service in St Philip’s Church, beginning the morning in a spirit of reflection and community. Following the service, everyone made their way to the parish hall, drawn in by the irresistible aroma of sizzling bacon and freshly brewed coffee that filled the air and promised a warm and welcoming breakfast.

A wonderful group of volunteers – who must have been up at the crack of dawn, had prepared a truly generous spread. There was a full cooked breakfast with all the favourites, alongside lighter options including granola, fresh fruit, and orange juice. Homemade brown bread, still slightly warm, was especially appreciated, and there was no shortage of tea and coffee to accompany the meal. The care and effort put into the preparation were evident in every detail.

The atmosphere was relaxed and convivial, with lively conversation flowing easily across tables as people from both parishes had the chance to connect, catch up, and get to know one another better. It was particularly special to see such a strong sense of shared community, with new friendships forming and familiar faces enjoying time together outside of the usual Sunday routine. The morning was not only about enjoying a delicious breakfast, but also about strengthening the bonds between Sandford and St Philip’s.

Sincere thanks go to the members of the Parish Development Committee who organised the event and made it such a success. Their hard work and hospitality ensured a memorable and thoroughly enjoyable morning for everyone involved. Kristina Odlum
