Messy Church

Messy Church – Sunday 9 March
The theme was Journey through Lent and Ms Hannah Rogan did a terrific job organising a number of child-centred arts and crafts related to this theme. Children had opportunities to reflect on taking journeys and personal challenges during Lent at Messy Church. Some of these activities including making a big group map, Lent paper chains with written intentions and hot air balloons. This was followed by a parishioner-led service with songs, prayers and symbols of journeys in St Philip’s Church. Back at the hall, everyone enjoyed fajitas and treats hosted by Helen Prendiville and crew. Children were overheard saying ‘I loved it’ and ‘I liked going into the church with all of my friends’. Messy Church – Sunday 11 May
A Christian Aid themed Messy Church marked the beginning of Christian Aid Week. We had eco-themed crafts and activities and worship before having some delicious food. We were truly blessed with the weather and with approximately 25 adults and 30 children in attendance it was a wonderful afternoon of great fellowship and fun. A huge thank you to all those who helped in organising our three Messy Church Services this academic year. Have a lovely summer!
