Parish Development Committee

The Parish Development Committee continues to focus on strengthening parish life through practical initiatives and community-building events. Much of our recent discussion has centred on how we deepen faith, support service attendance, and create meaningful opportunities for all ages, including the next generation, to engage in parish life.

The Young Families’ Coffee Morning was recently reintroduced and was very well attended on Friday 13 February.  It was encouraging to see so many parents gathering, and we hope this will continue as a regular opportunity for connection and welcome.

Plans are underway for a Parish Breakfast to take place on Sunday 1 March following the 8.30am service. We hope this will provide a relaxed way for people to stay after worship and spend time together.

Youth engagement remains a priority. The sixth-class reunion in the Autumn, hosted by the parish, was a positive occasion and has prompted discussion about making it an annual event. Initial steps are being taken to explore the possible revival of a Beavers and Cub Scouts group within the parish, with a view to assessing interest over the coming months.

Messy Church continues to play an important role in parish life, with the next gathering taking place on Sunday 22 March.

Eco-Congregation work continues through the Green Team, with ongoing commitment to developing environmental initiatives within the parish.

The Committee is also reviewing parish welcome materials, including faith development information, to ensure they remain current and helpful for newcomers. The Committee remains grateful for the support and involvement of parishioners and looks forward to the months ahead.
