St Philip’s Church 150th Celebrations: preparations well under way

St Philip’s Church is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year. As part of the celebrations we are having a flower festival and exhibition running from 12 to 14 May. The official opening will take place on the evening of Thursday 11 May and the celebrations will close with a special service on the evening of Sunday 14 May.

Flower Festival
Various groups associated with the parish and the local community are providing an arrangement for the festival. For further information please contact Ruth Potterton (contact details in the current SandMill Newsletter (Lent/Easter 2017)).

The Big Exhibition
We are seeking photos, memorabilia and other miscellaneous items reflecting any aspects of St Philip’s Church and parish life, including but not restricted to Dartry, Milltown and Palmerston Park over the past 150 years for the exhibition. The latter may include photos or pictures of local houses, businesses, street views, together with individuals and families who lived in the area in the past. We are looking for items in both electronic/scanned format and/or hard copy. Other more substantive memorabilia, if available, may also be included.

Particularly precious photos or documents should be scanned and delivered in electronic format. We will return all other hard-copy items once the exhibition has concluded.

Please contact Ivar McGrath (contact details in the current SandMill Newsletter (Lent/Easter 2017)).
