With the lifting of restrictions, choir rehearsals are now once again possible. I’m looking forward to welcoming members of the Choral Scholars and Choral Union back to rehearsals on Wednesday evenings from 29 September, and I hope to have members of the choirs singing at Sunday services over the new few months as we settle back into the routine of rehearsing and singing. We will also begin preparing for Advent and Christmas services. It will be wonderful to have our liturgies once again enriched by vocal music.
Anyone interested in joining either the Choral Scholars (for second- and third-level students) or Choral Union, please do contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
All of this year’s Summer Music at Sandford concerts are available to watch back on the parish music Youtube channel. Although it was a shame not to be able to welcome live audiences to these recitals, one of the benefits of broadcasting them online was the possibility of recording them outside the church. We had performances from St Philip’s, from Phibsborough, and even as far afield as Kilkenny! With the gradual return of live events, we hope it will be possible to hold concerts in our parishes again in the near future.
