Music Matters

After spending most of January preparing for our Candlemas service, the choir has begun learning a few new anthems which we hope to sing during Lent and Easter. We are also preparing for two performances of Stainer’s Crucifixion: one in St Bartholomew’s Church as part of their ‘Come and Sing’ performance on Saturday 23 March, and another in St Canice’s Cathedral, Kilkenny, jointly with the cathedral choir on Palm Sunday, 24 March.

New members are always welcome to join this friendly and enthusiastic group. Prior experience of singing is helpful, but not necessary. If you are interested, please contact me by email: doshea3@gmail.com

Singing Teacher

We are delighted to welcome Éilis Dexter as our new singing teacher. Éilis is a very experienced teacher and a renowned performer and will be sharing her expertise with the Choral Scholars and members of the Choral Union.

Choral Scholars

Places are available in this scheme for teenagers and young adults interested in improving their singing and musicianship. Choral Scholars sing as part of the Choral Union, and receive singing tuition and the opportunity to participate in a high-level choral ensemble. If you or your child is interested, please contact David O’Shea on doshea3@gmail.com.
