Parish Development Committee

The Parish Development Committee has had a busy season, supporting a range of activities that continue to enrich the life of our parish community. We are especially delighted to share the news that Sandford and St Philip’s has been awarded an Eco Congregation Award. This is a significant achievement and a testament to the ongoing commitment of many within the parish to sustainability and environmental stewardship. Particular thanks must go to Rachel Harris, who has overseen our Eco Congregation work with dedication and vision.

Among the recent highlights were two Messy Church events. The first explored the theme of Lent, offering a creative and reflective space for families to engage with the season. The second focused on Christian Aid, encouraging conversation and action around global justice.

Our Daffodil Day Coffee Morning was also a great success, bringing together parishioners and visitors to raise money for The Irish Cancer Society.  Special thank you to Alison Byrne of the PDC who coordinated the coffee morning this year with lots of help from Ruth, Helen,  Hannah, Joan and Rachel.

Looking Ahead

Ice Cream Sunday is coming up on Sunday 15 June and we hope to see you there.  The next Parish Development Committee meeting will take place on Tuesday 1 July at 8pm.

As always, we welcome any ideas or suggestions from the parish community on how we can continue to grow and serve together. Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events! Kate Lyons, Chair, The Parish Development Committee
