St Philip’s hosted its third Art Sale and Exhibition from 3 to 6 November in the Parish Hall. The event was opened on Thursday 3 November by Patrick J. Murphy, a past Chairman of the Arts Council of Ireland and Art Adviser to the President. Patrick has also just published a beautiful book, An Art lovers guide to the French Riveria. In his remarks he praised the quality and range of the art works on view and urged those present to invest in a piece of art.
The event was well attended and many people visited in the course of the four days. We were delighted with the number of paintings sold and the subsequent funds raised for the organ fund. It was wonderful to see so many parishioners from St Philip’s and Sandford parishes supporting the event and also the many people from the community around St Philip’s Church supporting the event, which helped to add to the social aspect of the art sale.
We would like to thank all those who supported the event and all those who helped to make it such a great success.
