St Philip’s Allotments at Rathmines Open Gardens

The St Philip’s allotment gardeners were delighted to be invited to participate in the 2022 Rathmines Open Gardens trail, organised by the Rathmines Initiative. Seven gardens from Rathmines were open from 2pm to 6pm for the general public to visit, including the allotments at St Philip’s. Visitors were invited to donate €2, with refreshments available in some gardens. All monies raised went to the UNICEF Ukrainian Fund for Children. Not only do the Garden Gang garden, but we also bake and the St Philips allotments alone raised almost €800! It was a wonderful afternoon with visitors streaming in at all times – so many people were curious to see the allotments and to chat with us. Thanks to Michael Kelly from the Rathmines Initiative who organised the whole day, and also to everyone involved in the St Philip’s allotments who worked so hard in the weeks leading up to it, getting everything ready.
