Sandford Church Organ

Much progress has been made on the restoration work on the organ of Sandford Church since Christmas. A new swell pedal has been installed, and the entirely new mechanism, which this pedal controls has made a huge difference to the versatility of the organ. At the time of writing the swell reeds are being installed, and the 16’ Contra Fagotto (given a new lease of life on the swell) has added an entirely new dimension to the sound of the organ. Once the swell reeds are complete, only a few stops on the great division remain to be installed. We expect the work to be essentially complete by Easter, by which time every stop on the organ will have been repaired, re-voiced, regulated or replaced.
