The Garden Gang will restart on Saturday 23 March at the slightly later time of 4 pm at the allotments in St Philip’s. It will continue every Saturday through to the end of June, excluding Easter holidays and bank holidays. Our projects for the coming months include tidying up the hedgerow and borders, weeding and planting our vegetables in our allotment, landscaping the corner beside the water butt and making composters for the newly cleared area around the yew tree.
We are planning on having Garden Gang badges to represent different activities, which the children will be encouraged to complete. It would be terrific if any parishioners with gardening expertise or bird-watching/bug-identification experience might consider giving an hour of their time one afternoon to share with parents and children. Please contact me: I would work with you!
We meet every Saturday afternoon during school term from 4 pm to 5 pm-ish at the allotments beside St Philip’s Church. The Garden Gang is for primary school children in Sandford and St Philip’s parishes and is free to join, with a donation of €10 per family to buy seeds etc.
