David O’Shea has once again organised a Summer Music Series running Friday lunchtimes in June, July and August at 1.10 pm in Sandford Parish Church. Admission is free. Donations will be split between the performers and the Sandford Church Bell-Cote Restoration Fund
Sandford Church Bell-Cote: When our church buildings were closed during the lockdowns one of the things we could do was ring out our church bell, bringing hope to the surrounding community. Some months ago we had to stop ringing the church bell due to some damage we discovered to the stone columns surrounding the bell. The cost to repair the damage, and to get our bell ringing again, is €23,000.
Events such as the lunchtime recitals can run smoothly only with the help of volunteers from the parish. Thank you to those who regularly help out. If you are willing to help out in this regard please contact Margaret Wynne or the Rector.
