St Philip’s Vintage Afternoon Tea

The invitations for the St Philips Vintage Afternoon Tea dropped into the letterboxes of Mageough and Cowper Court in good time. We all remembered last year’s enjoyable event and, particularly, of the delicacies prepared by the organising committee. Well, this year, they did not disappoint. The sandwiches, delightful mouthfuls of meringue, various additional chocolate bitefuls were an appropriate accompaniment to the chatter of friends. We don’t do this nearly enough. Old friends met up. Some wore their clothes of yester years. Prizes went to pretty hats. There was even one for a gentleman’s boater. Hopefully it will be an annual event, now that the big Covid pandemic is behind us. Patricia Kennedy, Mageough
