Music Matters

Choral Union
Rehearsals for the new choir term began on Wednesday 13 September. We have a busy term of new music ahead, and look forward in particular to the Harvest Thanksgiving Services on 1 October and the Diocesan Choral Evensong in Sandford Church on Saturday 21 October. We are delighted to welcome a few new members so far, and have vacancies in all parts (especially sopranos) for new members. If you would like further information, please contact David O’Shea (doshea3@gmail.com).

Junior Choir
Junior Choir also recommenced on Wednesday 13 September, and Judith and David are delighted to welcome many new members to join us for this term. The Junior Choir will sing at Family Services and occasional other services, alternating between both churches.

Choral Scholars
We have welcomed a couple of new junior Choral Scholars, who will have the opportunity to sing with the Choral Union and parish choirs while improving their music skills. There are some places available for students of secondary-school age, so if your child is interested, please contact David O’Shea (doshea3@gmail.com).

Organ Scholar
There is a vacancy for an Organ Scholar in the grouped parishes. This is an educational position which would suit a musician who would like to begin learning the organ, and who has already achieved approximately Grade 5 standard on the piano. There is no age limit, so if you or your child might be interested in this opportunity, please send a short musical CV to David O’Shea (doshea3@gmail.com).
