This Sunday’s service on RTÉ will be sung by choristers representing RSCM Ireland (the Royal School of Church Music), directed by RSCM Area Team Leader Blanaid Murphy and accompanied by David Grealy. You may remember that our Christian Unity Week Service in Sandford in 2019 was in conjunction with the…
Sandford Parish NS reopened to receive children on 1 September. As everyone knows, this didn’t just happen. Staff came in and assisted in the reconfiguring of classrooms as appropriate. I think if we never see a meter stick again we won’t mind. All staff are happy to be back and…
The 33rd Dublin Sandford Scout Group has not yet reconvened due to Covid-19. However, there are plans in train for some outdoor events (e.g. hikes) for each group at the weekends
Sunday School leaders met with the Rector in September to plan some activities for this term. While Sunday School cannot meet in the usual way, plans are afoot for some fun activities between now and Christmas. Keep an eye on the parish emails!

Following the lifting of restrictions announced in early May, Sandmill Strollers have met on the first Tuesday of each month having regard for social distancing and the need to stay safe from Covid-19. We have decided to drive separately to local car parks instead of car-share. St Enda’s Park was…
For obvious reasons, Sandmillers have not met since springtime 2020. Brian White’s presentation on Josephine Heffernan (and her long-lost bracelet) was our last event back in March. The planned tour of the Museum of Literature on Stephen’s Green had to be cancelled as the museum was closed. It seems unwise…
On Friday 8 November at 7.30 pm, the combined choirs of Sandford, St Philip’s and St Bartholomew’s will present a performance of Fauré’s much-loved Requiem in D minor, Op. 48. Fauré’s work sets a selection of the traditional texts from the Mass for the Dead, but unlike many settings (notably…
Choral Union rehearsals recommenced on 11 September, and we have several new members joining us this term. We are preparing for a performance of Fauré’s Requiem on Friday 8 November, and will then begin working on our Christmas programme. There is still room for new members in case anyone is…
